Ch. 1 A New Life?

There once was a Marine named Lcpl Daniel Siekawitch (Sick-ay-witch) who loved to encourage others. He was raised to be a devout Christian and had believed in his heart that, since God loves all, he should also show love to those around him. Due to his encouraging nature, his fellow Marines loved having him around to brighten up the day. One day, he vanished…

Siekawitch was the kind of guy who was always encouraging and tried to lift the spirits of those around him because he had a particularly difficult time coping with life after coming home from Afghanistan with the PTSD he had hid out of shame. He didn’t want anyone to have to deal with the kind of struggle he was going through. On a hot summer day, he said a quiet prayer and wept silently in the top lot of his unit; Mass-3 had been in Camp Pendleton, CA at the time. “God, please help me” is all he said before time stood still. he could tell that time had halted after seeing the birds frozen in the air, not moving. Not even falling, as though the inertia was still there but had stopped working. All at once, he was pulled into the sky like seen in Star Wars when any starship makes the jump to lightspeed. Daniel could see stars and galaxies flying by him before he came to an abrupt halt. The young Lance Corporal found himself sitting across a table from a radiant light. There was even some coffee and green tea prepared on the table. “Tell me,” said the radiant light in a very grandfather like voice so similar to depictions of Santa Claus, “what prompted such a request Daniel?” Knowing in his soul that the triune being sitting across from him was none other than Yahweh, the one true God, Daniel bowed in worship of the tremendous, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, one and only God of everything. After Yahweh sent out his spirit to Daniel, the young Marine was filled with the strength to speak again. For what man could possibly speak, let alone portray anything but pure awe at the reverence of the MOST holy one. “My Lord, I was hoping that you would release me from the bondage of this never-ending torment that I face in
my own mind every day after getting back from my deployment to
Afghanistan.” The one true God, being omniscient, already knew. He also
knew that asking Daniel was the first step for the Marine towards growing into
a truly whole man again. God responded,
“Is that all? I figured that’d be a given. Aren’t you terrified at your powerlessness in that body?”
“Of course, your Holiness! But I dare not ask for all the things in my heart
in the presence of your holy majesty…”
“NONSENSE!!!” Yahweh, also known as the great I Am, shouted Daniel
Siekawitch out of existence in an instant. Immediately re-creating Daniel in an alternate dimension…

Daniel awoke to the sight of a bright blue sky and rolling white clouds. “I must have fallen asleep in the field by the shop. What a strange dream.” He said out loud, noticing that he was still in his uniform. Immediately, his entire body shivered at the thought of God shouting him out of existence. He shot to his knees and bowed in worship before noticing two large ogres walking towards him. He stood up and tripped over a rock. Daniel was in a hUUUUge crater. The Ogres called out to him, “You fell from sky! You not even scratched! Hail to you, God from sky!” Daniel retorted angrily, “Don’t worship any created thing! The only one worthy of praise and worship is Yahweh!” In spite of the bizarre creatures heading stright for him, his first reaction was to give glory to God. The ogres were thrown backward one hundred meters and toppled three trees before landing and tumbling another fifty meters. After time came to a halt all around Daniel, the great I Am sounded from the sky,

“I have given you great power of both voice and mind, the ability to use [Yahweh’s Voice]. Your emotions control the very fabric of nature in this world. I know how much you enjoy Isekai stories and have made your life into the same. One that matches exactly to your tastes. For you are my beloved child. You placed your faith in me for the salvation of your sins and trusted all of my teachings even against harsh criticism. Today, you reap the benefits of your new body at the return of Yeshua to the earth. You will no longer feel pain, since your body is entirely indestructible. Your voice has the power to reduce mountains to ash with not but a word. I entrust this world and this power to you. Rule it in my mighty name to bring the inhabitants of the world of Driscle salvation of their sins.”

The Ogres rose to their feat slowly, staggering to recover from the mighty blow they just received. “We meant no offense, King of the voice. Forgive us. Teach of this Yahweh…! please spare us…” Said one of the Ogres.

“What are your names,” Daniel asked.
“Name? What is name? Our titles are Lumberjack and Hunter like all
others with our jobs.”
“No names you say? Well, rather than Lumberjack, I’ll call you Jack.
Instead of Hunter, I’ll call you… Jill? Yes, Jill.” He said out loud
after thinking to himself, ‘Since those are the first things that come to mind… Wait. What gender is Jill? Oh well.’

After being given unique names, the two Ogres felt as though they had become more important than their fellow Ogres and became haughty. Deep in their hearts, the sin of pride had taken root and immediately, Daniel could see a literal dark shadow surround their hearts. This dark shadow emitting an ominous whisper; “sssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn.” Daniel had encountered his first real enemy in Driscle, the sin of pride. Even if just for an instant, he thought ‘I need to purge this enemy,’ but understood at once that this would totally destroy the sinner. Sin against an infinite God is obviously deserving of an infinite punishment. He was brought to this world with one purpose; bring salvation to the inhabitants of Driscle.

“Now I get why you allowed evil for a time, Lord. You understood that human nature had become evil incarnate. To rid the world of sin would mean destroying all the people… We need to accept the free gift of your own infinite sacrifice in our place to pay for our sins and invite you into our lives to cleanse us, not just destroy the sin, but bring us salvation. It’s much easier to destroy than to rebuild and a soul is so complex… How did you do it?” Daniel inquired of the Lord while Jack and Jill lead him to their village.

God answered as a still, small voice, “Remember that I have already offered forgiveness of sins, even while you were sinners. Teach this world that to overcome their sins and as a result, the demon lord, they simply must repent of their sins, place their faith in me and proclaim to all that they are my newly adopted children.”

After taking a deep breath of relief, Daniel said “So this world is the same? Thank you for your grace and all you have done for me. I will do my best with the responsibility you have bestowed on me.”

Daniel called out to the Ogres, who seemed incredibly pleased with themselves, “Let us take a break and get some rest before we continue. Although I am strong, I am still mentally exhausted after traveling across the universe. I need to collect my thoughts. Would you listen?” So, they all rested while Daniel began to teach them.

Daniel’s two new friends listened intently while he taught of the great sacrifice of Yeshua, the one man who knew no sin and is the incarnation of God himself. Totally blameless, in order to be the perfect sacrifice to save all from sin and death. After hearing about how his own people tortured and then crucified him, the Ogres became outraged and slammed their fists on the ground. Their anger dispersed as Daniel used his voice to whisper, “But he then rose from the dead, defeating death and sin forever.” His voice was soothing, but impossible to not hear, as though he was speaking directly to their souls. This brought the Ogres out of their tantrum in an instant with the good news. Even though Yeshua had been betrayed and crucified, he single-handedly won the war.

Jack said, “Yeshua is your friend? If he rose from dead, then I not surprised. You must have helped save him!”

“NO!” Daniel replied in earnest. “He saved ME and he is my strength. The only reason I am alive was his grace and any power I might have, I got from him.” Jill said, “Now I understand. He is powerful. He gave you power and He want you to tell us about how we can be powerful too?” Daniel sighed and smacked the palm of his hand against his face. While feeling a small level of relief, since he now knows that he guessed Jill’s gender right, he said, “You’re getting closer, but not quite there. Let us be on our way and we can talk more while we head to the village.”

As soon as they stood up, a demon cut both Ogres in half and tried to hit Daniel. The blade bounced off, just like a thrown rock might bounce off of a balloon. Daniel became enraged and asked “WHY??” the demon had been vaporized except for what he needed to answer, “The cloud of sin around those two was delicious.” Daniel, still only being a man, was overcome with grief and pealed the very spatial fabric of the demon apart, atom by atom, until it had never even existed. Because the demon had been so completely eradicated, his two friends re-appeared and asked, “Why you all the sudden cry? Did we look at you a bad way?” Daniel was at a loss for words at the power he had been given. ‘Surely there has never been such power given to man,’ Daniel thought to himself. The two Ogres shrugged and thought to themselves ‘Wish could know.’ But then said, “We near village. You want refresh first?” Daniel slapped his face to bring himself back to reality and accidentally triggered the village alarm due to the shock waves of slapping his face. As the bell rang, Daniel’s anxiety only grew. The only thought in his mind was a remembrance of the sirens signaling that he was under attack from his time in Afghanistan. Although he had received a new body, the scars on his soul from his past still existed. Thankfully, Jill started laughing at the village, bringing Daniel’s mind back to the present.

Amid her laughter, Jill said, “They think under attack when it just Master Daniel! AHAHA!”

“There be no attack chief! We return with powerful friend!” said Jack while waving at the village.

“Oi! Lumberjack, who that?” the chief said in a slow, deep and almost unintelligible voice.

“It’s nice to meet you chief,” Daniel answered and saluted in perfect form.

“Oi! I am chief.”

Daniel stood puzzled, a little taken aback by the redundant statement followed by an awkward silence, awaiting Daniel’s response. “Uh… I am… Emissary of God?”

“Oi, Oi, Oi!” the chief said in an anxious tone. “Don’t tell me you from Holy Demon tribe?”

“’Holy Demon tribe? I’m under the impression that you’re contradicting yourself. How can a Demon be considered holy?”

“Oi! How you not know of the Holy Demon alliance?”

Daniel briefly explained how he had arrived at the village and had been sent from another world.

“Oi, Oi, OOOOI! That unbelievable! I need demonstration to believe. You say even raise from dead? Heal our village hero.”

“Village hero? What hero?” asked Jack, since he and Jill had been away collecting wood on their standard, month long lumber expedition.

“Certainly. Lead the way.”

They had been standing under the village gates for nearly 30 minutes, so the chief started walking into the village while Daniel thought, ‘they are somewhat inconsiderate, making a guest stand in the mud for so long.’ On the way to the hero, her story was told to Daniel.

Less than a week ago, a demon had been tormenting the village, which Daniel learned was called Kliphon Village. It started when the Ogres noticed a child had disappeared. They searched the surrounding forest until they happened upon a gruesome sight. The boy of only 4 years old had been turned inside out and his organs were all gone. The Demon later returned to the village and tore down the gate, demanding that a child under 5 be sacrificed to him once per week or he would devour all the citizens of the village. Since the Ogre race is one that rarely resists those stronger than themselves, they agreed and followed his commands. After two weeks, a far eastern gypsy named Lifei wandered to their village and came to love the Kliphon Ogres. When the Demon came that week, she erected an arcane shield with her magical song, repelling Demonic life essence, what people back on earth call the soul. However, just before she had finished her song and dance, the Demon leapt at her and was able to scratch her before being repelled out of the village. This had been a rogue Demon cast out of the Demon clan of Beelzebub. The rogue wanted to be the ruler of his own tribe, but nobody followed him, even though he had the ability [Essence Decay], which he used to poison his victim’s soul until it was destroyed. Daniel also learned that Ogres only value strength, not intelligence at all. In fact, an Ogres strength is directly connected to its level of intelligence. The stronger an Ogre is, the dumber it is. Because of the value placed on strength, the chief of any Ogre community is chosen based on how strong they are.

‘Could that have been the demon from before? No no, it couldn’t be. He never actually existed. But hold on… When he said [Essence Decay], I could have sworn that I saw something distorted flash in front of me for an instant.’

“Oi! We’re here” said the chief, as he lifted the animal skin being used as a door.

In Driscle, all the inhabitants had visible souls that changed in both frequency and color depending on their moral affiliation as well as their races, respectively. That soul was normally encased inside the body, unless spiritual damage was caused, or if the body was dying. There were many different demi-races, and the 7 primary races are Human – yellow, Lycan – blue, Ogre – orange, Goblin – violet, Dwarf – red, Elf – white and Demon – black. Lifei was a mix of Human and Lycan, a Beastman.

As Daniel walked into the large hut, he could feel the air grow thin and a faint green hue of light seemed to be slowly draining out of Lifei.

Because of the power, [Yahweh’s Voice], given to him by God himself, Daniel said in a soft yet firm tone, “Get up.”

Instantly, the essence that had been previously slipping away rushed back into her body. Even the dissipated essence that had drifted off to nothingness was brought back. She woke up and sat in the cot she had been laying on and asked, “Huh? Where am I?”

The chief stood utterly flabbergasted. His chin hung down to his chest and for a moment, he even forgot where he was.

Recognizing the incompetence of Ogres, Daniel answered her. “You are in the Ogre village of Kliphon. You had previously saved this village and been attacked by a Demon, so you have been unconscious for around a week.”

Reminded of the village and her peril she said “I thought I was dead. How did I survive the [Essence Decay]?”

“I used the power given to me by God to restore you. I’m just glad that I got here in time. Your fading essence was nearly all gone.”

With a face of shock, tears began to tumble down her face as she said “My hero… You finally came.”

engulfed in a feeling of warmth and affection for the adorable crying wolf girl, he becomes lost in thought, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen a cutie to this extent of cuteness in my life! Thank you God for letting my eyes witness such beauty.’

Jack and Jill were basically unsurprised, but the chief was in the process of forgetting who he was from the mental shock. When the blush faded from his face, Daniel regained control of himself.

He looked over to see that the village chief’s eyes were starting to twitch as they rolled back and he had drooled profusely from his still hanging jaw. “Chief. Get. Ahold. Of. Yourself.” Daniel said firmly but not too loud so as not to destroy something.

“Oi, thank you! For a second my brain not there.”

‘Was it there to begin with?’ Daniel thought.

“Your hero is alive and well thanks to the power Yahweh granted me,” he said on the same breath as a long sigh. He continued, “But anyway, Lifei, what do you mean I finally came?”

“I’ve been wandering all of Driscle trying to find a hero to save my kin… The Demon lord of the Holy Demon Alliance, Malthael, has begun to eradicate the demi-races of Driscle. My family was slain while we were fleeing the Beastman nation of Tassara.”

‘I wonder just how overpowered the ability [Yahweh’s Voice] really is.’

He yelled with the same tone and volume that his drill instructors used when Daniel was about to get IT’d (incentive training) in bootcamp. “Malthael! Get over here right now!”

Instantly, Malthael appeared in front of him, with his sword raise and slashed the air with unbelievable force.

‘Woah, I couldn’t even follow that slash with my eyes,’ Daniel thought before coughing.

After a fleeting feeling of intimidation, he said, in a disparaging tone, “Huh, so who were you about to kill right there, scrub?”

Malthael took a look around and was confused. “This isn’t the battlefield. Where have I been transported?”

“I asked you a question.” Daniel said as Malphael’s body was frozen in place with his arms and legs stretched out from side to side.

With terror on his words Malphael said, “It was a criminal!”

The moment the sentence left his mouth, Daniel could see the same dark shadow hissing around him that was around Jack and Jill when they had been filled with the sin of pride. Except this time, it was from deceit.

“So, you like telling lies?”

Malphael squinted and said, “Who are you to see into the hearts of the living?”

After declaring himself the emissary of Yahweh, Malphael laughed and said, “I shall make your God bow to me!” and with that, Daniel blew some air at Malphael and Malphael never existed.

‘So, this will be pretty easy.’ Daniel thought, referring to the salvation of Driscle.

As time came to a halt for Lifei and the Ogres, the brilliant light of God appeared in front of him.

“Daniel, what are you doing?” Yahweh said.

Daniel Siekawitch, after dropping to his knee, replied in a confused manner, “I’m saving Driscle, Lord.”

“It seems to me that you are not being Just, as I had previously shown you on Earth.”

“I don’t understand Lord. Please teach me.”

“All sin is an attack against me. Since I am infinite, any sin, no matter how small, is an infinitely compounded transgression. That means all sin is deserving of an infinitely terrible punishment. To be just, if one sin is punished then all sins must be punished. But if all sins are punished right now, then all the people of Driscle minus Jack and Jill must also be punished immediately. Before the punishment of sin can occur, we must find every person willing to place their faith in my son to pay the price for their sins. Once we have saved every person who will accept the gift and follow me, only then can sin be eradicated from the land.”

‘Crap. This just became a lot harder to do.’ Daniel thought.

“Yes. It will be difficult, but I have given you the power and will help guide you on your path.” God said after hearing Daniel’s thoughts.

Promptly on the disappearance of the brilliant light of the Yahweh, time began to flow again. The conversation picked back up from after Lifei had told of her people getting persecuted by the Holy Demon Alliance and awaited a reply from Daniel, since Malphael was erased from existence.
